Growing up in small town Barrhead, Colton had a passion for powersports and small engine equipment with a desire to become a mechanic. He also knew he didn't want to venture far from home, so getting a job at the local John Deere dealership seemed like a great place to start following his dreams and build a career.
Colton began working for Deerline Sales as a summer student in high school. He remained working there as a work experience student throughout his Grade 12 year and upon graduation joined the team full-time. He spent the next few years apprenticing to earn his Service Technician ticket and now specializes in working on the turf, powersports and small construction equipment.
Colton enjoys the flexibility Martin Deerline offers and the opportunities they have provided to travel in both Canada and the United States for advanced training. He has gained a lot of experience in his years so far, and has earned the respect of his co-workers and the local community as being an expert in lawn and garden service. He looks forward to continuing to grow his career with an eye on sales down the road.
Colton has spent the last 13 years growing up with his co-workers, so Martin Deerline really has become his second home. The team has watched him get married, build a house, start a family and have become great friends. Which leads to Colton's sound advice for new employees joining the team, “make friends with the people that you work with. The days at work won't seem as long if you can joke around and have fun!”
And Colton likes to have fun both at work and in his free time. This time of year you will often find him at the lake with his family taking part in water sports and in the winter he likes to head to the mountains to go sledding.
