Staff Spotlight Emily, Wetaskiwin Detailer

Emily's job is a dirty one as our Wetaskiwin stores Detailer, and she enjoys every minute of it! Her bubbly personality is contagious, always showing up to work in a good mood and rubbing off onto the rest of the team. She absolutely loves her job and the crew she gets to work with, and Emily has created a new standard of clean in the Wetaskiwin area, as customers have been heard saying “it's not clean until it's Emily clean!”

We sat down with Emily to learn more about her, and her days spent detailing John Deere equipment. Her responses were so candid and fun we just had to share word-for word, as Emily's personality shines through.

What does your typical day at work involve?
“Well the days usually go like this; I have my 10-minute morning talk with my fav people in the back and that's what starts the day off right! But to get to the nitty gritty, it's a pretty dirty day by the end of it! Lots of up and down the ladders, getting into all the no reach zones on the inside of cabs! I have the capability of getting into places where some cannot!”

What is your favorite piece of equipment to clean?
Let's be real, some may say that the lawn mowers and Gators are the best to clean, well, I think otherwise. In my mind the combines are my favorite piece to clean - yes, they are big and yes, they may have lots of hiding spots but when it is all said and done, they look immaculate, and I can't be any more satisfied when they go out into the sunlight!”

What is your least favorite piece of equipment to clean?
“If we are being brutally honest here, then I would have to say that the sprayers are my least favorite piece to clean. You may think there quick and easy, and yes in a sense they are, but what gets me is I can't wipe down and scrub every single beam or nook and cranny on them!”

What is your most memorable day from your time working at Martin Deerline?
“It was like yesterday, I had been working for roughly half a year at this point and I had a combine in my wash bay ready to be taken out, low and behold it was my time to take it out! Luckily, I had my favorite person Ivan, in the cab with me helping me through the excitement and adrenaline my body was going through. I did it though, backed her out and parked it out in the lot with the help of Ivan and Carl guiding me. It was the BEST DAY EVER!”

What advice would you give a new employee at Martin Deerline?
“This right here is what we call a family, and in this family, we are honest, caring, supportive, and will do what we can when we can to help you in the right direction.”

What are your hobbies outside of work?
“Well, I love to fish all year round, except on them real cold winter days! Then you will find me crafting or painting. And in the summertime, I like to dig my hand into the dirt gardening.”

What is something people may be surprised to know about you?
“My age! I may be small and look like I am fresh out of high school, but… a lady never reveals her age!”

With a passion to clean, bright smile, and great sense of humor, Emily is a joy to work with every day, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team!
